Visitors will learn about the impact of Thomas Jefferson as an influential figure in early American history, about Monticello as an iconic architectural feat, and about the lives and skills of the enslaved community who worked to shape this landscape in many critical ways.

Children on a Family Friendly Tour talk with a tour guide

Take a Family Friendly Tour and explore the first floor of the main house, or purchase a Grounds Ticket to access the historic mountaintop. Both options include our exhibits in the visitor center, special educational activities on the West Lawn and Mulberry Row, miles of outdoor trails, the chance to learn about ongoing research and new discoveries from Monticello's archaeologists, and more!

Meals and refreshments are available for purchase at the Monticello Café in the visitor center. While on the historic mountaintop, check out the Farm Shop for snacks, drinks, and other grab-n-go options.
