Horminum Sage is a hardy annual native to the Mediterranean region. It was grown in Britian as an ornamental in the sixteenth century and illustrated by John Gerard in 1633. Horminum Sage also has a number of traditional medicinal and culinary uses. Horminum Sage grows to 1 or 2 feet with a neat, tuft-like crown of sage-like leaves and a striking top-knot of colorful bracts in delicate hues of pink, blue, and purple. It is useful in flower borders and as an edging plant.
