Horses were part of everyday life in early America. While George Washington is more readily remembered as an avid equestrian, Thomas Jefferson was also a passionate, lifelong horseman. Indeed, Jefferson continued his habit of daily rides up until just three weeks before his death at the age of 83. In this week’s livestreams, we’re focusing on horses. First up, join us on Tuesday, October 27, at 1:00 p.m. EDT for a live Q&A with Thomas Jefferson, interpreted by Bill Barker. Mr. Jefferson will discuss his love of horses, and the role horses played on the plantation and in the lives of enslaved people at Monticello.
