Highlights Tour This guided tour provides an overview of Monticello’s architecture, landscape, and people through an inside/outside exploration of the house, the plantation, and the ideals of freedom and the realities of slavery.
Behind the Scenes Tours This exclusive pass takes you through the first floor of Monticello and up the narrow staircase to explore the quarters on the second and third floors, including the iconic Dome Room.
Gardens and Grounds Pass Enjoy Monticello’s Gardens and Grounds at your own pace. Includes the seasonal Garden Tour, daily Slavery at Monticello Tour, and interpreted spaces under the house.

Meet Thomas Jefferson

Guests can meet Thomas Jefferson (as portrayed by veteran historical actor-interpreter Bill Barker) in person, Tuesday through Saturday during regularly scheduled hours. Widely recognized as the foremost interpreter of our nation's third President, Barker brings a deep and nuanced portrayal of the man who wrote "all men are created equal" and who helped found the United States of America.

CHP Fall Open House and Plant Sale SEPTEMBER 16- Join us at the Thomas Jefferson Center for Historic Plants (CHP) for our Annual Fall Open House and Plant Sale, including scheduled garden tours, farm visits, and more!
Archaeology Open House OCTOBER 7 - Join us for displays of recent discoveries and walking tours into Monticello's woodlands and learn how we use archaeology to better understand the plantation and the lives of those who lived and labored here.

Fall Flavors FARM TABLE CAFE - Our chef prepares seasonal menus including soups, salads, and sandwiches made with Monticello-grown vegetables and locally sourced meats, cheeses, and bread. Located at the Monticello Visitor Center; no ticket purchase required.
Fall Foliage TRAIL at MONTICELLO - Take a meandering walk on the Saunders-Monticello Trail or tackle a more challenging hike on the slopes of Carter Mountain to soak in the colors of autumn.
