Join us at the Thomas Jefferson Center for Historic Plants (CHP) for a fall plant sale, garden tours, and tea tasting. The Monticello nursery will have a variety of flowers, trees, shrubs and seeds available for sale. Our knowledgeable nursery staff will be on hand to answer your gardening questions.

Enjoy a tea tasting from 10am to 1pm by local tea expert, Mikaela Deighan of Charlottesville's own Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar. She will be offering teas of Jefferson’s time as well as some you may already have growing in your backyard.

Please join us for a tour highlighting CHP’s trees and shrubs with Monticello's Curator of Plants, Peggy Cornett, during two 30-minute garden tours at 10am and 1pm

Take part in our recycling initiative! Bring any empty nursery plant pots to our pot recycling station during the plant sale. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to help make the Center for Historic Plants more sustainable by reducing our use of single-use-plastics. The Center will be sanitizing and reusing the reclaimed pots for future sales.

Please note:

  • Sales are credit card only
  • There will be no public restroom available
  • Alternate date will be announced in the event of rain
  • No registration required
