With native hardwood forest, deep ravines and spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the trail winds its way toward Monticello and back in a very manageable four miles. A maximum grade of 5% keeps it completely accessible to walkers, cyclists and those in wheelchairs.
This 2.5 hour, guided, small-group, interactive tour explores Monticello through the perspectives of enslaved people who labored on the plantation. Similar tour previously titled the "Hemings Family Tour."
This one-hour and 15 minute guided tour focuses on the experiences of women, both enslaved and free, who lived and labored at Monticello.
