Printer-friendly format Bookmark and Share Resources Available to Ensure Accessibility

The Foundation maintains the following resources for the assistance of visitors with disabilities:

  • Wheelchair-accessible shuttle buses (2)
  • Golf cart to transport visitors with disabilities between the mountaintop and the shuttle drop off at the Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center and Smith Education Center
  • Wheelchairs (8), available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Four-legged walkers (2)
  • House Tour Translations (Braille)
  • Sign Language Interpreter (available with two weeks advance notice, call 434-984-9880 or email accessibility@monticello.org)
  • Accessible Restrooms (Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center, south terrace of house)
  • Accessibility Brochure (website and included in the Visitor Guide)
  • Accessible Parking Spaces (8 for individual vehicles, one for tour buses)
  • Visitor Service staff assistance in pushing wheelchairs through the House
