Monticello’s new introductory film will dramatically present Thomas Jefferson’s accomplishments and ideas, especially his core concepts about human liberty that have reached far beyond his place and time in history. It also will introduce viewers to the other people – both enslaved and free – who lived and worked on Jefferson’s plantation and to the extraordinary landscape of Monticello. The visually rich 15-minute film, produced by Donna Lawrence Productions of Louisville, Ky., will be shown in the theater on the courtyard level of the Smith Education Center.
Opening April 2009
